When you get engaged no one tells you how stressful planning a wedding really is.
Wedding planning is listed as one of the most stressful events in someone’s life along with loss of a loved one, and moving. Now wedding planning does not need to be this hard, there are a lot of people out there that want to help you with anything and everything you need.
Made From Scratch doesn’t just bring the food-we handcraft the entire event. The planning process needs to be broken down because we promise you, you can get very overwhelmed thinking about the wedding as a whole.
First things first, you need to find your wedding venue and see what the availability is. This is the base of your wedding and is essential in the planning process. Made From Scratch is really great at helping you figure out what venues are available to you.
You can’t plan any other details until you know where the wedding will be. The venue decor is a huge part in the other little details of the wedding.
Kelley and Kyle had their wedding in a barn which is becoming more and more popular for the more rustic wedding feel. They did something a little different with the barn though, they used silver and purple decor to make it feel more clean and modern.
The date will affect the flowers and the attire of your wedding. If you’re having a winter wedding you probably aren’t going to be using sunflowers and wearing a strapless dress. The date might also help you decide what your colors or themes are. A fall wedding will probably use more of an autumn color pallet rather than spring/summer.
The time will also have an impact on various details. If your wedding is earlier in the day, you will most likely go lighter on the food. Your catering will be more appetizers, fruit platters, and salads.
For an evening setting, you may serve a more intricate meal along with cocktails. A summer, evening ceremony you will also want to think about lighting and things like bug spray to ensure your guests have the best experience.
#3 What is most important to you?
Once you have your venue and a date, what are your priorities?
For Kelley and Kyle it was really important to them to have a few fun surprises for each other. This is really up to you and your future spouse. Is it to stay in budget?
To have surprises for each other? Some people really care about the food, and wedding favors. Other people might care more about their dress and the decor of the wedding.
By taking the time to think about these questions, you will be able to create a special day for you, your family, and guests.
